With a 32kN major axis strength rating, the DMM Zodiac is strong enough for rescue loads and robust to withstand intense use by groups and centres. It is relatively light and compact for a rigging karabiner (sometimes spelt carabiner), making it easy to transport. A design that forces loads toward the spine, matched with its high strength rating, make the Zodiac appropriate for high load scenarios.
Offset D for ergonomics
The Offset D connector shape takes the optimal loading of a D-shaped connector but with an increased internal volume at one end – the basket. This adds to the positivity in the hand, especially when wearing gloves.
Keylock clean nose for snag free connection
DMM’s patented ‘Taperlock’ closing mechanism increases gate push-in and cross gate strength using a special flared profile on the nose of the carabiner, as well as allowing a snag free connection for your ropes, slings and devices.
Captive bar option for security
Many of our connectors can be supplied cross-drilled to accommodate captive bars. This means that the lanyard or attachment cannot be removed and ensures that the direction of force applied in the event of a fall is along the major axis of the connector, giving maximum strength and holding power. The captive bars themselves are not for load bearing use.
