Delivery
Orders placed through this website by 3pm will be dispatched the same day, subject to stock availability, for next day delivery.
You will receive an email letting you know it’s been dispatched on a next day service. Once it’s been dispatched the delivery will be attempted twice on consecutive days, if the carriers need to try a third attempt, you may be liable to a redelivery charge.
For purchases made via this website, delivery is charged at £4.75 + VAT for orders up to the value of £50 (ex VAT), to UK mainland addresses. Orders over £50 (ex VAT) placed via this website will be delivered free of charge.
Unfortunately, we do have to charge a surcharge for delivery to exotic and far-flung places, like the Scottish Highlands and Islands, but we will cover the basic postage charge if your order is over the £50 (ex VAT) limit.
We also have to make a pallet surcharge to cover the additional cost of shipping the very few extra-large items that require delivery on a pallet (e.g. some of the larger log splitters). Affected items will carry a note stating that they require pallet delivery and will offer the option to collect from our main workshop free of charge, or to add a £50 pallet surcharge.
We usually use a courier service to deliver larger items, which normally requires a signature. If you are likely to be out when our delivery is due you may enter delivery instructions, e.g. ‘please leave with neighbour’ or ‘please leave parcel in porch’, in the order notes as you check out. However, if you do ask for goods to be left on your property (e.g. in the porch or shed) while you are out, the courier will be unable to get a signature, so this is at your own risk.
